Replacement mag for a sleeker look.
Great for replacing faulty mag pinning jobs.
The SKS 02 is a 5-rd magazine designed for SKS rifles and carbines. The magazine body and follower are constructed of a proprietary DuPont® Zytel™ based polymer to ensure a long service life. The springs are made from heat treated Chrome-silicon wire for increased reliability and smooth feeding. Made in the U.S.A.
NOTICE: Due to the variability in mag-well dimensions in the wide variety of manufacturers of the SKS rifles and carbines, and in how they have been converted for the use of detachable magazines; this magazine may require hand-fitting.

This will require some fitting to make it work with your SKS. Mine is very tight

I bought this magazine for my sks so that I would have a hunting option that doesn't rattle at all. In that regard, it is great. It did require very slight filing to fit into my '51 Russian sks, as advertised.
While it feeds brass cased ammo well (which is fine, as my hunting ammo is made by me), it would not easily eject laquer-coated Chinese surplus steel case by hand. It usually worked when shooting, but I had more stoppages than with the factory 10 round fixed magazine.

As with any polymer component to be used with old soviet hardware these did require a tiny bit of filing on the catch and sides but only a very small amount.
They feed very well, the spring is very stiff, zero issues with reliability.
If you have had issues with soft point round nose ammunition failing to feed in your SKS these mags will FIX that problem due to the fact that the spring is much stiffer which results in the cartridges being held up higher in the action at a much straighter angle relative to the chamber.

Look pretty damn good and works great....but the tolérances and very tight fit make it so that you have to file parts of it to make it work perfectly. Took a few hours of checking and filing to get it to work. Be carefull and look twice where and how much you need to file off so you dont over do it....trust me!!

both the 5 round Promag and the Tapco 20/5 mags did not fit my SKS Russian rifle. I have 45 years maintaining all types of guns, I am also a Millwright. I don't know how they will both feed at the range they seem to be ok in the shop hand ejecting.

This 5 round magazine is great for bench shooting as it is not much bigger than the factory one. With that said I had to shave a little out of the well on my laminate stock as the fit was tight but after it was fine. My hand naturally wants to grip this magazine when I am shooting offhand and it feels comfortable, I was a little surprised by that!
The factory magazine release can be stiff so an extended one may be a good pairing with this magazine as it is stubby and you need to practice to take it out fast. I will be ordering more of these!

Only got to try it out once. It takes a bit to figure out how to install it and remove it. It is much nicer than loading the original mag.

Very little fitting needed for 53 Russian in ATI stock. Using 123G FMJ. Works flawlessly. Could not fine these anywhere else (living in Canada).
Thanks Hi Cal.
